cedarcreek: As the only person who ran them all---what did you think of the sprints? Other than the map issues we've already discussed...

Were they fast and furious or dull and boring? Was it worth the gas?

dersu: I thought they were great. The long one was not fast and furiouis, but I suppose it could have been, if I had run it that way. I mispunched on the middle one because I didn't leave the fingerstick in long enough...if I recall, I was thinking that that was the unit that didn't work...but it turns out that it was not the broken unit...and it did work when I went by on the other sprint and made sure to hold it in long enough. The GO control was interesting because a big family decided to make it a true spectator control by forming a circle around it. Their dog added to the excitement. Sprints are great for beginners; I've had people tell me that sprints are much less boring than white courses, because you have to make lots of decisions, not just follow a trail. Also, the woods were not too bad except right around those boathouses. The map issues were minor.

cedarcreek: The results are up now, and you don't have a mispunch recorded, so... You've got three official times:

We have a ton of maps left over. We might have to reuse them for a JrROTC event, or perhaps for a training day this fall.

Thanks for the comments.
