Hi attackpointers!

I am curious if anyone knows of a way to get maps and info about orienteering events in or around Sapporo in the next couple of weeks. I'll be there for work and would love to get out to a map if possible. I know that the Ski-WOC will be there in '09, so obivously some orienteering exists on Hokkaido, but I have no clue how much foot-O there is. Any leads would be appreciated!

I can't help you find events, but the 2009 Ski-WOC site has a single, simple map available here: http://www.orienteering.or.jp/swoc2009/maps.html

I glanced through the event and map archives on worldofo.com, but didn't see anything there either.

Thanks! Emailing Rob was the first thing I did, but haven't gotten a response yet.

I looked up the Hokkaido Orienteering Association website. http://o-hokkaido.com/
They have one on Sept 21st right on the outskirts of Sapporo. It's accessible by bus or subway. The map is oddly named 'Olympic Tree'.

There's also one on Sept 20th (Park-O) in Takino Suzuran Park, a tiny bit further out. Accessible by Subway and then bus.

As it happens, there's also one tomorrow.

If you want more info, email me.
