I'm catching up on e-mails and Attackpoint after being away, and I just *had* to say "oooh" and "ahhhh" about your Skyline trail run. Sounds like a totally awesome day, and your pics are amazing! I spent a few months living at Lake Louise and I'm envious of you.

Bash it was fantastic! I have over 300 pics from that run so that's only a selection. Definitely the highlight of my summer. Hoping to do a few more bigger mountain runs before fall/winter comes but just have to find the time.

And the coast raid looked great. I'm waiting for Pixie to sort through them or for you to post them somewhere. Nfld is a place I really want to visit!

I visited your Flickr album - wow!

There are some Coast Raid photos on my log now, and I'll be adding more photos as I continue to write up the final two days of the race. Our team took over 1000 photos and picked a lot of berries. Fun!

I'm sure Pixie gave you a good peatland lesson too;) I can see Tiny rolling his eyes in disgust.

Meridian, how long do you think Skyline is doable before winter arrives in them there hills? Do you think all of Sept for sure and by October it could get a bit dodgy?

Bash:
That's exactly how it was, Meridian. Pixie was thrilled about all the peatlands - and enjoyed exploring other ecosystems too, especially the seashore. It broke our hearts to have to trample all that nice sphagnum moss. And Tiny rolled his eyes at all three of us. Often.

Nev - I think you can get away with in Sept (Oct. could be if-y) but watch the weather in Jasper. You really really want to do it on a good day. You're really exposed for 95% of it so if the weather is crappy it won't be fun. We lucked out with our weekend - you've probably noticed the dodgy summer we've had so far. Its a tough 45k and change so be prepared if you do it. Well worth it if you can do it!

Bash - not shocked the least bit. I remember racing in Muskoka with them and Tim did the exact thing. Granted Kristen and I are both geeks but whatever;)

Granted Kristen and I are both geeks

...and Tiny isn't?!? He did go to Waterloo too.

It's a different kind of geek. (As a Waterloo engineer, I know from geeks.) Pixie and Meridian are enviro-geeks, and 'Bent and I aren't far behind. Tiny is moderately amused by us and showed remarkable patience as we stopped to identify and eat berries during the race.

I call it passion. I'm very passionate about certain things especially the environment:)

To give Tiny credit, he did feign interest in the little marine critters that Pixie was photographing.

But eventually he'd had enough.
