trails were the way to go...good adjustment on the fly......I should have stayed with solid attackpoints on every control...just trying to read contours off trail did not get me very far with my current abilities....

I've noticed in some events I tend to say "no problem, I'll just go straight, I can read the map!" Most of the time I can, but that's still not necessarily the fastest route. So lately I've tried to dial back some of that enthusiasm and accept a trail run if it can get me there faster, even if it is a little boring.

This meet was an example where adapting to what the course presented you wasn't just helpful, it was essential.
