I have a number of laps from the Scott on my Garmin but only half of them will download. Anyone experienced this problem?

Oxoman:
What software are you using, Dave?
And you didn't change the exercise mode between laps by any chance?
Is there a pattern to the laps which are not downloaded?

Using SportsTracks, didnt think to try the Garmin software!
No didnt change the mode, but dont think that would affect the download?
No pattern just first three wont download where as last three did.

Wyatt:
Sport-tracks only downloads splits where the full GPS track is available, so I suspect you ran out of memory to hold the GPS data for all of your splits. Garmin SW will give you the splits download, but no GPS track for those earlier segments (as that data is lost.)

If you don't like losing data, set the Options for Tracking to Smart, instead of 1-second. The jaggedness due to 'Smart' is usually pretty small, and it increases the amount of time you can have split for from around 3 hours, to around 15 hours. Something like that.

Good luck.

Are you sure the first three are still in the Forerunner? If you are not using "smart recording" mode, the Forerunner can only store about 3.5 hours worth of data and will overwrite earlier sessions.

I had something similar happen to me, whan I got home from O/S I couldnt down load the 1st week of GPS data, which includes my run at Jukola. Can still see it in the watch, but still cant get it to download

The reason I asked lazydave above what software he was using is because OTrack limits its downloads to the first three hours of any run. May not be a problem for you Jim, but it is for me ;-)
Similarly OTrack differentiates between exercise modes.

As per Wyatt's suggestion - download to Garmin TC to see what data you actually have in the Garmin.
