Discussion: Shoes -> Gear?

A lot of us log other sports. Could shoes be changed to generic "Gear," or something similar, so that we can put bicycles, etc in there too? I logged a bike ride and it says "Shoes: Cannondale R500 Feminine," which is a bike not a pair of shoes.

Just a thought. Plus, there are other types of orienteering (ski, mtn bike, snowshoe).

Thanks!

Makes sense. I had been thinking about this recently anyway, so I'll put it on my to-do list.

If the "shoes" section was to be changed to "gear" then I think you should be able to select more than one of the items (e.g. bike and bike-shoes)

I second the motion by statistics:boy. I'd like to track the miles on my snowshoes and the shoes that I wear with my snowshoes.

it does seem like a good idear, seeing as i log mtb and road biking under biking

Actually, if you are going to make changes to it, a extended log for the gear would be nice, that way you could add bike repairs / services and track how long you last between chain changes etc.

I am for this change too. This will help also with maintenance and replacement parts tracking on my bikes.

By the way this thread reminded me of an old joke:

All these ideas are great, but remember than Ken is a one-man team, and maintains attackpoint in his free time. So, if you donate, I am sure he is more likely to find time to implement these changes.

Sounds like the type of feature that should only be available to those that donate.

I had never though of this before, but such a feature would be awesome for those who are maintaining climbing gear (ropes, harnesses, ext...). That stuff deteriorates over time and it's also important to track hard falls and other abuse.
