Did you notice that the NS lines on that map are tilted?
Sorry about your cold; but if you had a fever for two days, it must be more than a cold.
I didn't notice the "tilt" until I got home, when I had a chance to look at the map more closely. It's a very slight tilt, maybe 5d or so? If it's more I'd buy the argument that it affected my compass work.
Since we're on the subject, why is the tilt there? It doesn't appear rotating to align NS lines with the paper's edge will cause any problems with map printing.
I don't know why they are there. Since it is only a few degrees,and I didn't think that anyone would use their compass for a long enough distance to make that relevant, and I had other things to do, I let it slide.
You're right, there are enough other map features to orient oneself along the way to make this a non issue. I'm guessing the "tilt" accounts for a 5d W magnetic declination for the map.
