I see that part of the PNWOF is near Cle Elum which is near Roslyn (Northern Exposure fame). To those of you who live near there, is it worth to visit Roslyn if you are a Northern Exposure fan?

My recollection is that they filmed part of the title sequence in Roslyn, and that's about it.

(Mind you, I never saw the show, so I have no idea what would make a trip there worthwhile.)

roslyn is a small town. not alot to see. the brick is great. the mtn biking, paddling and orienteering are even better. If you choice is to come all that way just for the town, you may be dissapointed.

In order to get to the Salmon Run (2nd weekend of PNWOF), you have no choice but to go through Roslyn to get there. So, if you're coming, you're going to see it.

And they supposedly have a world class gold course on one of the COC maps right in the town! No way to miss this kind of fun :)

As a Northern Exposure fan who has visited Roslyn a couple of times while orienteering at Cle Elum, sure it is worth a short visit, get nostalgic, recognize some spots, i.e Joel's surgery which is I recall last summer a souvenir shop. The place is pretty much the sleepy place per the show. It has an excellent little brewery, though it is more of a tasting spot, than a bar. Also if you were a "Twin Peaks" (1st season only fan, "Twin Peaks" is on the drive out from Seattle. It is a fun hike up the hill which a short rock scramble at the top.
