gruesome parts i couldn't watch, when you knew what was coming. I was surprised by the ending though, it was so predictable:)

heh! yeah, it was cutely predictable in that sense (except that coming up to the end everything had been so bloody I wasnt sure in my mind if things were gonna work out, so it wasnt totally predictable that way ie in my head at the time. which was an interesting phenomenon) and wasnt that the funniest descent into traditional indian-movie-ness with the synchronized dancing at the very end, too! I suppose that was maybe their nod in the the direction of yeah, we ended this predictably...
one thing that has me a bit puzzled now is that I havent heard anything about the film being fiercely protested in India the way that Water/Earth/Fire apparently were cuz of portraiture of Indian culture....

Mixed. I heard it was rather celebrated in India, in that they were proud that it was a hit elsewhere. But also others who felt it was a stereotyped picture, or who resented being portrayed in the film.

Yesterday I had my first couple of handfuls of outside homegrown baby spinach. I would not mind having enough land and sun to grow enough for me and some neighbors! Its very fulfilling.
