Stryder: After the Flying Pig I noticed my replacement Mud Claws were missing 3 heel studs on one shoe and one on the other. These were replacements with only 117k and 19:33 hours on them. I luckily have a friend who owns a running store that I convinced to carry Inov-8, and so we have decided to try one more time to turn them in. I just don't know what else to replace them with. I love the shoe!

cedarcreek: Where is the store that carries Inov-8?

Stryder: Runner's Plus across from the Dayton Mall.

cedarcreek: Thanks!

Stryder: Ask for Greg Trosper, and tell him I gave you his name. We also coach Parker's soccer club team together. He is carrying a pretty good selection.

hkleaf: I got mine at the Trail Store in Louisville, but Dayton is probably closer.

The heel stud on my right shoe is gone after Saturday's sprint. I talked to Ross who also uses the Mud Claws. He's had similar experience with the heel studs breaking. So it seems to be a common problem for orienteers.

cedarcreek: I couldn't find this discussion because it didn't have the word mudclaws or inov8 in it. So I'm fixing that...

Adam: How much do O shoes cost, and which brands/models are good?

#  Posted 2009-06-27 08:21:03
Stryder: I have never had O shoes other than Inov-8 330 O, which were great other than breaking studs. I am using a different Inov-8; 310 Flyroc, which is more an adventure racing shoe. I like Inov-8...so far...

IndyBass: On a related topic (related to this shoe, anyway) - Have any of you had heel blister issues with the MudClaw?

#  Posted 2009-06-30 14:28:09
hkleaf: I had a hot spot in the heel area once or twice (both during longer/steeper races), but no blisters to speak of so far.

j-man: I bought some (almost) new Inov-8 Mudclaw 340 O+ (I think they are 340s and they have metal spikes, and the 330s don't?)

Anyway, I like them very much. But, for better or worse, after a couple days of racing at PNWOF--4, to be precise--many of the metal dobbs are missing.

Stryder: I had to order a larger pair of 330's to avoid blisters, and, I wore them loose. No problems after that. I am wearing the Inov-8 Flyroc 315 now
