The date and location for US Team Trials for 2010 has yet to be determined. It is often chosen to align with and augment an already scheduled (or to-be-scheduled) A-event, to be held in April-June 2010, preferably in terrain somewhat like http://woc2010.com/GamleKart/Smistad.pdf or more generally, any of the maps here: http://woc2010.com/embargoedAreas.php

Some people have suggested that Harriman and part of New England might be most relevant - anyone have other suggestions on good terrain matches?

Looking at this Calendar, http://mapsurfer.com/sanct/maincal.map, West Point, and WCOC match location and timing, but there a difficulties with both of those, in part because orienteers aiming toward WOC 2010 are involved in organizing these. Getting another event to appear on the Calendar in that window, in New England or Harriman might be difficult - does anyone have suggestions, or is aware of possibilities along those lines?

Are organizers of other events in that timeframe willing to host the Team Trials?

Or could we go as far as waiting a bit late, and using the North American champs as US Trials for WOC?

Get Lost!! offered (in a message to the ESC a couple weeks ago) to hold the 2010 Trials in Harriman, on dates of the Team's choosing. So far Get Lost!! has received no positive reply.

Mr. Desert,
Can you resend the offer to me - I don't think I got a copy, nor could I find one on the usotesc mailing list.

That's because I don't have access to usotesc, and usually e-mail a member of it with a request for consideration. Anyways, no big deal. I think the message above has all the essntial info. Alexei and I are offering to be leads on the project. We will apply for sanctioning if USOF ever changes its stance on only allowing USOF member clubs to hold A meets. The date is whatever is most convenient for the Team.
