I was suffering from bad nav blues. Resulted in brain being stuck between the decision to turn right or left along a flat road where there was only really one possibility of where I could be.

Actually, you weren't the only person I saw looking confused on the bitumen road either. Fletch set a very tricksy course for the medium lengthers. Sure sign that you should have done the long.
