Tom O:
Thanks Fred - I had a blast. I think you saved us from folly on many occasions. And you get sole credit for that 81 pointer! I'm sorry you were miserable the second half. I was in some discomfort but still enjoying it. Hopefully your blisters will heal quickly. I'm not sure what to do to prevent that in the future. I think the bottoms of my feet are pretty heavily calloused from lots of use/abuse which probably helps. I felt like I had a blister on my right foot but there were none there when I took my shoe off.

Enjoy those pies!

Pumpkin roll almost gone already! Thanks for that and everything else.

I wasn't miserable enough from the blister to not have a good time anyway. I guess the ultimate proof is that I didn't swear never to do it again. Perhaps the 2 yr SVO rogaine cycle is designed to take advtantage of poor memory...
I attribute the blister to two causes, relatively equal:
1. I decided to go with my Vasques which were almost too big (and therefore left some room for my foot to "slop around" in) and also didn't have as much protection from underneath (and therefore were flexing a lot under the ball of my foot)
2. I didn't put in the miles and hours I needed. From your logs, you certainly get more hours on your feet normally, and I had to cut back in the last 6 weeks because of the ankle sprain from West Point.

Now, we get to start thinking about O Marathon 2...
