hkleaf: This is typical of many of Hong Kong's terrain and map - lots of green everywhere. The course last weekend was a bit like a glorified trail run!
There are maps with more rough open areas, but so far I haven't been on them yet. Also, white runnable forest exists only in tiny patches.

jtorranc: I hope you can get out to some of the maps on Lantau soon then - I particularly enjoyed the one they ran the APOC Classic on, brutal though it was physically with the climb and the vegetation fully justifying the "rough" in "rough open".

hkleaf: I hope so too. Like the Bay Area, it's hard to find areas where "brutal climb" don't exist. But it'd be nice to run on maps that are less green. I miss running in the forest!
