You know, I think 6:45 miles are just fine for you, take it easy;-)
I was surprised by the pace when I did my first race of the year - didn't expect to be (mildly) competitive in my age bracket at road races. Now I'm seeing if there is any chance of improvement. If not, oh well
I ought to do one of these longer race things... From the RIT track series I know what I can do in a 1500m, but the last time I did a 10k for time was in college, a 5k in high school. (and it was a very short tenure on the UB XC team - just one season - I did not particularly enjoy the 10k distance and was not very competitive;-)
There might be a chance I could do a 7m mile over 5k, but that's probably optimistic...
Rachael was thinking of doing a 5k as a race-walk, and I might do the same one as a run.
