Is there a way to view all your controls and then click or add a specific control to a course? Because unless I am missing something, the only place to add a control to a course is on the "Edit Courses" pane, which only shows the numerical code of the control, but gives no indication of where that control is located.

I've often wondered the same thing which is why I tend to do rough course design in OCAD and then move it to Condes if there is a reason to use Condes.

The "work around" I've found for this in Condes 7 though is to put the course you want in the course layout edit and then click the "new control" icon. This should show all other controls in purple and the course in blue. Then when you have the course open in the edit course pane, at least you can see all the controls and the current version of the course. But if you make a change and want to look at it, make another change and look at it, etc., then you need to keep opening and closing the course box since the course does not get updated as you make changes, only when you close the dialog box.

While viewing a course, click on the leg that you want to add a control to. Then click the "Insert control" tool, which should be on the second horizontal toolbar of the Course Layout Editor, just above the list of courses.

Don't use the "New control" tool on the vertical toolbar along the right side of the screen. This will actually take you to the "Controls" pane.

I'm assuming that you are using Condes 8 and that your toolbars are in the default positions.

I do it as Thomas describes---It's all visual where you can see the course as you add controls.

The only time I edit in the Edit Courses pane is when I accidently delete a control (in the "all controls" view) before removing it from a particular course, and when I am adding forks. I've never seen a visual way to add forkings.
