Last winter SLOC purchased 40 SI-BSF8's. The controls were used in Jan and Feb but have been in storage since then.
Tonight, we got them out to prep for a meet next weekend.
I had configured 2 start controls and 2 finish controls. All 4 are dead. The other controls are all fine.
The controls were in a carrying case, in alternating order. Randomly. The 2 starts and 2 finish controls were in different locations (not together).
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bill
From the SI repair guy:
Yes, there is a known bug which shows up under the following conditions:
? Stadium controls (Clear, Check, Start, Finish, Print) ? BSF7 and BSF8
? Firmware is 5.59
? Last SI-Card used before unit went to sleep was an SI-8 or SI-9.
If the above situation occurs, then the unit doesn?t really sleep, only the display turns off, but internally the unit is still consuming milliamps instead of microamps ? a 1000-fold increase.
