Just thought I should announce here that the Saturday portion of our June A-meet has been moved from Fallen Leaf Lake to Spooner Lake. Due to the unusually heavy late-season snows, the FLL rangers declared the area to be "too wet" for us to use at the end of June.

Fortunately we have been given permission to use the Forest Service land across the highway from Spooner Lake State Park itself for Saturday's foot-O event. This is a very nice area, and has been used at least twice before in major events. Day One of the 1999 US Champs was set in this area, and we also held a very successful relay there as part of our Sierra 2000 event the next year.

The US Trail O champs will be held at Spooner on Saturday as well. The trail-O will take place at Spooner Lake State Park proper.

For those of you desiring some high-altitude "1000 day prep", it's still not too late to sign up! Especially those of you who hate Fallen Leaf Lake, and vowed never to return after the US Champs :-)

See our web site at http://www.baoc.org for more information.
