Nick,
I'm considering coming to the Canadian Ski-O championships but it has been a long time since I have skied XC on anything but skate skis.
Could you post the estimated percentage of trails that will be suitable for skate skiing for each course on the Sunday - well at least for the over 55 course? I'm not averse to a bit of double poleing but too much would be too much. Or should I get my old wooden Birkebeiners out of the rafters in the garage?

Nick:
hard to say yet the percentage.. whatever there won't be many uphills where you have to use only classic style.. one area have groomed ( in general ) 2/3 for classic and 1/3 for skating and classic ..one have more the other way ( even more larger trails ).. for both areas there could will be some extra groomed trails ..we'll do that extra grooming only for the Championship...wooden skis will probably not help much.. there will be limited (about 5-8% ) trails of one-man trail

Nick, is Mansfield going to permit skate skiing on their double track trails that are normally used for classic only?
