Samantha:
I've only tried running stairs a few times and every time I was in extreme pain for many days after. Good luck!

Are you trying to psych me out?

Rosstopher:
Boris is being smart though, because the pain comes from running down, not up.

apocryphal but amusing

That is excellent. Of course East Rock has hills, but stairs are different, and I like the elevator down idea.

East Rock also has stairs, but no elevator.

'Second-tallest' is a giveaway that nobody has any clue where it ranks, it's just kind of big, and they don't want anybody who knows of a bigger one to be able to falsify the claim.

I once visited the 'second-most beautiful harbor in the world' in Madagascar. Presumably they were thinking Brazilians would say Rio, Americans San Francisco or New York, Australians Sydney, ...

I used to be a post-man for a long time - this making me semi-professional when it came to running in stairs. Two hours a day usually have a positive effect on both leg strength and stamina...

Unfortunately I had to run both up and down: From my own experience I´ll say that if you would do the same for another 20 years or so you´ll get bad knees too :(

Lucky for you that you could take the elevator down :)

typical step height is about 8" so that would be 2400" or 200 feet.

Are you smart enough to push the button back to top floor when you get out at the bottom, so it is there when you get to the top?

BorisGr:
No, I am smart enough to not do that so I get a longer rest. :)
