If you go into Settings, you can select the number of Data Fields to be seen on a particular page. If you select 1, you will get a mega number that should be adequately visible during your run. If you want additional info, you can set that up on another screen - say time of run or run distance or even Sunset or Sunrise ;-}

Excellent. What's your standard choice?

Guess I'm not as old and frail as you so I have 4 on each screen:

Main screen: Time, HR, Distance, Time of Day
2nd Screen: Time, Current Lap Time, Lap Distance, HR
3rd Screen: Time, Pace, Distance, Elevation

For O and normal things I use the Main Screen as 2nd could be considered Exceptional Info in an O meet. 2nd is useful for Intervals and such. 3rd Screen is just stuff. Haven't gotten around to find any thing more interesting.

so far I've only gotten as far as plugging mine into the charger. I obviously have a long way to go.

4 data fields on each screen:

Main screen: Distance, HR, Accuracy, Time of Day
2nd Screen: Lap Distance, HR, Accuracy, Time
3rd Screen: Distance, HR, Elevation, Time

1st screen is pre-race/training, 2nd for race, 3rd not used so much. I like to have an eye on accuracy.

3 per screen, to get one big one.

Main: Time, Average Pace, Distance.
2nd: Current lap time, lap pace, lap distance.
3rd: HR, elevation, time of day.

That pretty much covers everything I want to see during a run.

I don't find these at all hard to read. Retrieving the data, such as lap times, from History is another matter. I need my reading glasses.

On my FR205, which doesn't have HR capability

Main: Time, Pace, Distance, Average Pace (used for road runs)
2nd: Time (large display), Current lap time, Laps (used for orienteering - no distance display to tempt cheating and lap counter to check which control I should be going to with epunch)
3rd: Time of day (large display), elevation, heading (used on trail runs when I occasionally like to verify I'm headed the right way)

That's awesome. What did you score?

My version of "speed golf" just means running at the course, no actual golfing. I've never tried real speed golf, i.e. running and playing, though I've played 18 in about 2:15, walking quickly but taking my time with the golf. I suppose I should try it sometime.

Do you have a place that would allow (or not notice) speed golf? I would play any time. I really want to.

I don't know. The place I play most often in Greenfield has a couple of guys that start very early most week days and jog and play. I don't think they are going real fast, but they get around pretty quickly, maybe between an hour and a half and two. Obviously you have to be the first one out (or play on a really crappy day, or maybe even start real late, say 90 minutes before dark, but then there are usually still people out, and often leagues and lots of people).

No one seems to mind.

I assume it would just depend on the course.

Well, if you want to do it sometime and put together a foursome, let me know.

I think a foursome would somewhat defeat the purpose. Not having done it, I would assume a onesome is best? So not waiting for anyone.

Why wait? Mass start, ready set go, first one done wins. Maybe wear helmets. What club(s) do you bring?

I really have very little interest in traditional golf, but I would do this. I even own an 8 iron!
