I had a pretty good record going for a number of years:
I started orienteering in 1966 and had my first mispunch in 2000 and another one two or three years ago - and that´s all.

Actually skipped a control in a sprint last year too (2009) and another one in a mountain O (maybe 10 years ago), where I noticed at the next control but it was too far to go back (funny thing is I actually ran right past it and saw it and just kept on going).

On top of that a number of DNF´s for various reasons.

I've never skipped a control
Only 2 DQ's prior to this year...then two in back-to-back races. I blame that on my need for bi-focals. :-)

Congrats on your good amount of training. You likely out trained a few of the team members.

I was going to say that you're not old enough to have skipped a control, but my first was at the US Champs in 1985 (age 41), just never saw #11 --

More recently, just mental failings, one at a WCOC A meet, the one at Rochester last fall, and I think one more, which, of course, I can't remember.... :-)
