So is this a fancy new toy from Christmas?
High HR readings can be due to poor contact if the sensor isn't sweaty/wet enough, or due to interference from power lines or similar.

Yep. It is. Seeing as it was in the first 10mins of my ride to work I was thinking lack of proper contact was the most reasonable explaination...

405 ? it's very nice, the only tip i'd have is make sure you download the latest firmware, it has a number of very useful changes.

310XT didnt like the touch crown thing, also Greg and Andy J both recommended it over the 405CX that Brent's got.

Cool, havn't seen one of those, even more money though, you must be enjoying being employed.
The 405 touch bezel is fine once you update the firmware, you can lock it out too.
