Looks pretty launchble, actually. Depending on the wind direction, who would want wires?
How fast do you get going when you're gliding? I think you carry a GPS? Do you carry anything to measure air speed?
Terrified as I would surely be by the zip lines, they sound far preferable to hang gliding unless I was intent on checking out early.
I would be willing to attemp to knock out two terrifying things in one weekend.
Normal airspeed for the stuff I fly is in the 20-30 mph range, and the placarded Vne (speed to never exceed) on the wing I have right now is 53 mph. A racing wing with full VG and the bar pulled in pretty far can get up to around 70. I have an airspeed meter but I've never mounted it on the glider (I do have the bracket if I want to do so), I've just used it when standing on launch to see if windspeed looks good for launching. When flying, I rely on the wind on my face and wind noise to stay in an appropriate speed range.
GPS can tell you ground speed, of course, but mine doesn't tell me anything until I land and download it.
