| ccsteve: | Tired of spending time on the driveway instead of the woods?
Yes - those hours count! Just get The Shovelator System and make them really work for you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CAnRGVCAvA (Shameless plug I know, but I think you'll enjoy the video. This effort was begun when answering the age old question - do you get to log time spent shoveling?) |

| hughmac4: | :) They should have the classic "Before and After" shots. |

| ccsteve: | 'Doh!
They is me - and I only wish I would have thought of that earlier;-) |

| GuyO: | Are snowblowers banned in Rochester, NY? |
| # Posted 2010-02-01 20:57:44 | |
| dlevine: | You can't log the training if you use a snowblower. (Local ordinance) |

| ebuckley: | Good stuff, but shouldn't the relo package reference Watertown rather than Lake Placid? Seems they get about five times as much snow. Maybe it would be too esoteric for those not familiar with Upstate. |

| L-Jackson: | At first I was going to comment on how great it was that this relatively tame winter was allowing us time for more productive endeavors.
Then I checked the Golden Snowball Award website and it seems we are a few inches over average for this time of year. Nice stuff |

| ccsteve: | An early reviewer (who is a Buffalo resident) commented that Buffalo was not necessarily more snowy, but I stuck to it in that people outside Buffalo think that it is very snowy;-)
Watertown may have more snow than Lake Placid, but they don't run dog sleds for tourists there. The gratuitous humor about Minnesota is well - just a good laugh. I have no first hand personal experience with the weather there - It just sounded funny;-) |

| GuyO: | My snowblower (Ariens 2-stage) requires a fair amount of pushing to keep the auger as close to the pavement as possible. I also use shovels to finish. |

| blairtrewin: | This is a form of training some of us don't have access to. The last time measurable snow fell in central Melbourne was in 1849. |

| gordhun: | "Carry the 1 instead of the snow" - I laughed so hard I woke my wife and that is good because it is her turn to make the breakfast. Thanks. |

| ccsteve: | Blair - you definitely need the Shovelator - Gardening Package, or possibly the Raking Your Way To Six Pack Abs Module - look for those real soon now.
Gord - appreciate the feedback;-) |

| Jerritt: | Debates rage in Minnesota about whether shoveling is loggable. I personally don't believe shoveling is, but am not above logging chipping ice off the sidewalk.
Thanks for the shout out. We are proud of our winters. |

| bct: | I generally log shoveling if it's >20 minutes.
The invoice should definitely include a cost multiplier for wind. Blowback is a real morale-killer. My old roommate put a big chunk of pipe around the rake handle that must have weighed 20#. He ended up with some beastly core muscles. |
