| ksumner11: | We followed the powerline down to the last control. If I did it again, think I'd follow the road. Pretty thick stuff in there. |

| ksumner11: | Matt was pretty pumped to beat you but at the same time realized it was a runners course. Straight forward nav. |

| ebuckley: | What were the trails like at Wyandott? I'm running the 50K there this weekend. Looks like they should be frozen, but maybe pretty rutted up from the earlier thaw. |

| Spike: | It has really been fun to have Matt at so many races recently. It definitely has pushed me and made the racing more fun.
Are you and Matt going to the St Louis meet in March? That should be a really good event. Eric, I'm not sure what the trails will be like. I'd guess that some areas will be rocky and rutted but most will be ok. If we don't get some warm weather, there will be some slick spots from the recent snow. I ran a few years ago (just the 2 lap version) and it is a really nice course. By "nice" I mean a good mix of terrain and trail. I'd say it is a tough course. It is worth carrying a map to have a good idea of what is coming. |

| ksumner11: | We would both like to go to St. Louis but right now it doesn't look good. Sure would be a fun weekend. |

| ksumner11: | It is really neat to see him get into it. He is even looking at Nationals as a potential vacation destination. |

| kupackman: | Which "Nationals"?
USOF is really confusing this year because there's US Champs in Washington State in June, and US "Classic" Champs in New York in October. If it's the former, it should be fun, because there's North American Champs the weekend after, in the general vicinity. |
| # Posted 2010-02-11 00:02:09 | |
| ksumner11: | The former. |

| ksumner11: | Road Trip anyone? |
| # Posted 2010-02-11 00:14:59 | |
| kupackman: | Sweet! I'm setting the Middle Distance Champs at Moses Lake Sand Dunes. It's, uh, decidedly different that anything in PTOC-land. |

| Spike: | Kelly, we should get Matt out and do some technique training. It'd be fun to shadow him and see how he is orienteering. Maybe there are some easy ways to gain a few minutes. |
| # Posted 2010-02-12 04:05:06 | |
| ksumner11: | Agreed. I'll talk to him and I'm sure he'll be pumped. |

| kupackman: | Spike, are you coming out to US and/or NA Champs? |
| # Posted 2010-02-12 04:24:22 | |
| Spike: | Not really sure about US and/or NA champs. I need to figure out my various obligations and available time. The middle distance sand dune area sounds fun. |

| ebuckley: | I'm goint to try to get to Wyandott this afternoon (Friday 2/12) to check out the trail conditions first hand. I expect that with the thaw they will be a mess, but they might re-freeze overnight. If anybody wants to get together for dinner, call or text me: 314-306-0738. |

| Spike: | I'll hope the conditions are good.
Mary and I can't make dinner, but maybe someone else can. I think MeanGene might be running the race (but not the full distance). Maybe Eelgrassman, too? Good luck with the race. |
