Apparently, the replacement cost can be $100 or more, and it's really easy to sell them, probably via ebay or similar sites. |

| Tundra/Desert: | Yep. Granted I was my own fool when I left the power supply on the train, but from the fact that it never surfaced in Lost & Found, I'd be close to 100% sure that it ended up on eBay at some point.
It's not the cost for me, it was the damn connector geometry that was the problem. Acer uses this plug that has the regular diameter on the outside, but a very thin center conductor and a spring-loaded receptacle for it on the supply side, something that nobody else does. Although the laptop side "sort of" mates with the regular wart plug, the connection is unreliable at best. |
