Sprint Series Update

A few notes on how things stand –

1. A little time has passed since the last update to the standings, since chief statistician Boris Granovskiy has been on the road, preparing for the World Champs in Denmark this coming week. We hope to have an update shortly after WOC is over. Current standings are at:
http://www.petergagarin.org/

2. The qualifying round of the Series runs through Sunday, September 10. There are lots of sprints to come, including high-point ones at the 1000-Day, the Canadian Champs, and the BC Champs, plus I hope to be awarding lots bonus points for people qualifying for the A final at WOC next week.

It’s not to late to add more sprints to the schedule. Just send me the info at least 20 days in advance.

3. Plans for the Finals are shaping up. They will be at Hickory Run SP in northeast Pennsylvania, on Sunday, September 17, part of a weekend package in coordination with DVOA’s annual training weekend. In addition to the finals, there will be a relay Saturday afternoon and a night-O that evening, plus we hope to set up special training sessions Saturday afternoon led by US Team members. More information about the Finals is at:
http://www.sju.edu/~sfillebr/Orienteering/SprintSe...

On-line registration will be available shortly.

Anyone at last year’s finals remembers it as an exciting and fun weekend, and we expect this year to be even better.

If we participate in the Sprint Series finals on the Sunday, specifically which events on the Saturday can we race?
