How were the poles with the little out riggers?? We can cut those off as they are old technology. I am hoping you are not putting too much pressure on them and that makes your hand hurt.

I think they worked out ok. Are you thinking that they're not too flexible? It hurt mostly during second half of the trail, maybe I got tired and started using my arms more. I shortened the straps, but I saw some other straps that wrap around your hand. I wonder if those are more comfortable. For now I think I'm ok, cause it doesn't affect me after the skiing.

Yes other straps are a bit more secure and comfortable. flexible meaning the pole stiffness?? The outriggers are old tech. I can cut those things off. Some people still use them ( very few). Watch the olympic skiers and try to mimic them.

yeah, believe it or not, I looked at the olympic guys. their technique is quite different than mine (assuming I have a technique already :) They keep their arms up high, i didn;t see a lot of people at lapaham doing that. That's why we are at lapham, and those guys at Vancouver :) You know, if you think those outriggers need to be cut, I'm in. i'll be cc sking for sure this weekend.
