Short interview with Mike W:

"It felt OK and I had a good run in the beginning of the race. A bit into the course I started to feel my knee and also felt that I wasn't running fast enough. Some mistakes on the second half of the course - maybe 3 min´s total. This will not be enough - my hopes were to do 30-35, but even without mistakes I wouldn´t have qualified today."

Is that Nick Duca in Heat B?
Jul 29, 2006 11:57 AM #
Hammer:
Yup that was the Duke - running his 10th WOC. He told me in the winter his goal was to run 10 WOCs (5 for Canada and 5 for Romania) but he was sick during the selection races and ended up as one of our reserves - so he got permission to run for Romania instead (6 Romania, 4 Canada).

Very impressive results for French men! Strong show if Israel men team as well! Good results by Spanish and Japan women teams. Annabel qualified!

Good luck in sprint and long quals!

Check out the splits. Hillary had the fastest split to Control 13 on the Women's B course. And 3rd fastest to #14 and 2nd fastest run-in.
