Did anyone have any experience with this Swede-O Ankle Brace? Is it really that good and worth to try?

Sergey, the Swede-o is far from being the best ankle support on the market. IF you are looking at one that laces up (as opposed to let's say the Active Ankle that is composed of 2 plastic stirrups), then the ASO is the one you want. On top of offering the comfort of the laces, it has 2 solid straps called Heel locks that really stabilize the heel bone and help prevent recurrent sprains. The downside of that brace is once wet it gets pretty heavy (and so does the Swede-o) because they are primarily made of fabric. THe Active ankle is lighter (especially the generation II) and does not get affected by water, but does not offer the compression of the swelling (in case of a fresh sprain) that the type that laces up does. So, if you are trying to heal a fresh sprain, I suggest the ASO. If you are only trying to prevent recurrence when running and orienteering, I suggest the Active Ankle Generation II.
Hope that helps.

I have used the Swede-O Ankle Lok for a number of years and like it very much. I've probably bought about eight - they do wear out after a while. I use it on my weak left ankle for all running. For orienteering I have used an Active Ankle T2 on my weak foot and a Swede-O on the strong foot for many years, but have now stated using an Active Ankle on both. with the Swede-O make sure you use the plastic insert on the outside or it won't do the job.
Both Swede-O and Active Ankle now make a variety of kinds of braces. And there are LOTS of others. www.ankleshop.com has a huge variety and excellent prices.

Thank you for the information!

At international competitions I have noticed that many (50%) of elite athletes tape their ankles. This is done more as a prevention step. It also, probably boost confidence in running through the rocky terrian.

My both ankles were sprained in past. For a number of years I have been using ACE ankle support (kind of like a sock with hill and toes cut-offs). It works relatively good with one drawback that it rubs the achilles, espicailly when wet.

I am looking at the better offers availble on the market.
