I think Vadim has the makings for another five controls... set them on a different frequency and set two courses at once?? You'd have trouble with falling across the second set of controls when you are looking off-cycle... but it might help in two ways. 1) you set both at once, so the total time setting is reduced. 2) if you are quick on the first you can immediately start on the second... so the varying speeds is taken care of.

In this case I could have set all the controls for you guys... if I'd known in advance and wasn't already going to Blue Hills. But it's rare that you'd come to Hammond Pond I guess.

Aw, thanks for volunteering to set our controls, but surely we cannot reasonably conscript your services.

It did occur to me that an optimal training setup (orienteering or ARDF), much like what Sam and Sandra did, would be for a pair of orienteers to alternate setting and racing. We do have another set of transmitters; it seems like a reasonable solution to our dilemma.
