Sounds like a good run, in our neck-of-the-woods.

Never been to Mono Cliff before so one of the reasons i wanted to go. The race wasn't technical, just some long climbs and fairly open trail running. Winning time was like 43 min so those top guys were cruising. I was taking your advice this race and just pacing myself to see how i would do. Felt good. Next week though is going to hurt. 32k ITT.

We did the ITT last year as our first trail race. It's a nice section of trail with some rocky bits where you really need to watch your ankles, and a few good climbs/descents. Since it's an out & back design, you get to go both directions on every hill. It was also fun seeing the race leaders coming toward us, since you could keep track of how they were doing.

It was well-organized, and we definitely would have done it again if we weren't headed to Quebec. Have fun!

Should be fun. TVP, Superwes and i have done more than half the course in July. Rocky indeed. Should be good, hope the weather is like it is now and i'll be happy;) Good luck in Quebec, that is very soonish?

Yes, we are leaving on Wednesday, returning Monday night. The next few days will be insane between race-related and non-race related things that have to happen before we depart.

We'll be near Quebec City, so I'll try to photograph some nice peat bogs for you.

I guess I shouldn't mention that I'm all packed now and all the food is purchased. I'm just sitting here surfing the web and drinking my wine. :)

Good work, Tiny! I want you to rest so you can tow me up those mountains. Actually, we're all packed too, and I'm drinking a Mike's Hard Lemonade as I type. (The sports drink of champions!) The remaining race-related tasks involve driving to three different towns to pick up the rented hitch bike rack and the U-Haul trailer (they only tell you one day beforehand what time and which location to pick it up), and drop off our dogs in Toronto. Then we'll have to load gear boxes and 3 bikes when we get back on Tuesday night, since we're leaving right after Richard finishes work on Wed. And unfortunately, like most things in our lives, my non-race-related activities are in different towns too. Oh yeah, and I have to write our team bio, and a pre-race report for Sleepmonsters. But anyway, I've been looking at those awesome photos of central Quebec, and I'm really looking forward to getting there! :-)
