It may not be the case, but to me, it seems as if you were rushing, focusing on fast running instead of planning and executing. Interestingly, Vlad's route to #10 was even more twisted. You are very fast, and even when you think that you are losing time because you take extra measures to plan and execute, in reality, you are still faster than others just because you are extremely fit. Just my thoughts...
I think you are right, I didn't feel rushed on the first 4 flags, but I think running too hard downhill to 4 meant that I didn't have time to really sort out 5. I'm kicking myself now as I think about how I knew even at the time that I wasn't 100% about where I was leaving the trail on the way to 5. After the mistake all bets were off, it's really hard to be calm and patient in such a situation.....
