We'll have awards for the Western States Champs at the BBQ and time for people to form Relay teams. Also, the only food options are Steak or Chicken (or vegetarian). The brisket is not available. My deadline for ordering food is passed, but I will get changes to them tomorrow (July 10). So please respond if these changes are NOT acceptable. THANKS!

    Action items:

    * If you registered for the BBQ and cannot attend, please let me know asap.
    * If you ordered brisket, please let me know asap if you can switch to steak or chicken.
    * If you did not register for the BBQ and want to be added, please let me know asap.

  5. Group camping: Sunday, July 18th 2pm – Wednesday 12pm

At the last minute we were able to reserve Pike Community Campground for group camping. The cost will be split between those who stay with us. We’ll set up a solar shower enclosure area, so bring your solar shower. You are welcome to join us.

Sherry has extended the deadline for recreational "map hiker" entries. Excerpt:

As a map hiker you are in a completely non-competitive class and the cost is less ($15/day instead of $30/day, plus $3 Estick rental if you don't have one). Also, this is our last event until Labor Day weekend.

The options are White, Yellow or Orange on Saturday, July 17th, Sunday, July 18th, and Wednesday, July 21st. Also, you can run in the non-competitive sprint -- Easy or Intermediate -- on Monday, July 19th. In addition, RMOC would like to have multiple relay teams, so if you are interested in being on a team, please let us know.

Start times will not be pre-assigned for map hikers, and you will need to start after competitors. So plan on being at the start area within 1 hour of the first start. The details (location/directions, times for packet pickup, map and course notes) will be posted on our web site www.rockymtnofest.com very soon.

To register as a Map Hiker, send email to both slitasi@yahoo.com and nlund319@comcast.net. The deadline is Monday, July 12th, at 11:59 pm MDT.

Thanks!
