Danger,
I'm on my second Garmin 310xt HRM Band already first one just died! about 2 months ago :-(
Hmm. I've put a new battery in there to see how it goes. It seems to pick up interference really easily from my clothes. I tried it sitting down at home the other day. If my shirt was in contact with the main sensor on the front, it went haywire. I pull the shirt away and it works....
I've found a cotton shirt works fine, most bike shirts not so good, any flapping shirt not good either. Luckily I'm so large and deep chested that the shirt doesn't flap.
Have you tried wetting the front of the shirt. Disperses the static which builds up with cycling shirts. Not good for winter though.
I have trouble enough wetting the band and putting that on. It sends shivers down my spine.....
(yes yes harden up et al blah blah blah)
Wet shirts paddling are just as crap though, particularly the Anaconda race shirts. Leads me to think dodgy band rather than static??
hardly ever have a problem with mine? maybe its my broad chest and firm pecs that keep the shirt at bay
me too. you lot just need to sweat more when you exercise.
Just revert to old technology. No issues ever with my (formerly Toomzeses) 305 band. I don't ever bother to wet it either, but I guess my heart just beats so strongly that its easy to pick up a reading :)
Sweat or no sweat aint the problem with mine either, even liberally sweaty, as is my wont, it plays up. Don't need it anyway. Bah-humbug.
