Gruezi! I'll be spending a few days at the beginning of September around Pontresina - would anyone be able to help me with any O maps around there (eg God da Staz)? Many thanks, Merci vilmal.

Contact the map sales person at SC Corvatsch for the map you mentioned:

Click anywhere on this map, you find orienteering maps in the neighborhood. Then click on 'Bezugstelle' to find the place where to buy it.

They usually send it to you with an "Einzahlungsschein", you pay at the post office in Switzerland when you are there.

The most amazing thing is, how many maps exist in the small country!

Our experience last summer procuring Swiss maps, a sense of adventure....

That sounds like a highly suspicious transaction. This might have been a Swiss banker doing an illegal deal (I am kidding).

Normally pre-ordering works fine, but you better provide a Swiss address and you need to give them some time to mail it (I send so many Central Park maps and Harriman maps to people who are almost ready to board the plane to NYC, having ordered the maps so late.)

Some clubs sell the maps in a local bookstore or sporting good store.

Excellent thanks! Could Orientierungslauf powerhouse status and map density / quality be related in some small way??
Prior experience noted and I will assiduously avoid any UBS-IRS interaction and unofficial Post workers :-)

Connection made- seems like a pretty efficient system.
