Discussion: Walking is good stuff, but...

... you might want to use a different pair of shoes. Walking is all heel strike and it can twist the heel on a running shoe. Then when you go to run in it and plant further forward, the shoe doesn't strike properly. Probably not a big danger if you're staying in the 3-5 hour per week range, but if you increase your volume, it could be.

My goal is really to be jogging, but I just don't do it enough --also because of of my hip replacement, I need to mix jogging with walking to add to the life of the hardware!
I'll check out some walking shoes!
