Have any orienteers tried to get on Science Channel show "Mantracker"? Most of the contestants seem to mess around trying to trick the Mantracker or simply bumble their way through the forest. I figure any decent orienteer would be able to simply outrun that Mantracker.

A couple from Ft. Worth has recently been selected to be on the show and I don't recall them ever attending an NTOA event.

ThereĀ“s been a few discussions here on attackpoint; I know at least one about the konotopets brothers had one on youtube. Also Louise Oram really wanted to do the Mantracker thing, but was rejected due to that they realized that she would just reach the finish before the mantracker can start searching, so it wouldnt make great TV. But hey, what can you do...

And that is exactly what I smugly tell people when they have asked me about the show, ie, the mantracker wouldn't have a chance!
