I would like to show an example of an orienteering map of a ski lift and resort area to a local property manager that is in concept very interested in having the property mapped for mt bikers, hikers, and adv racers for off-winter season usage. If you know a map, and have a web link to it, post it here. (or email me an image...).

O-Utah has several US alpine ski areas mapped. I've seen the one of Brighton (made by Ed White) which covers the base area and some up-slope terrain, and from their schedule it appears they may have maps of Solitude and Snowbasin as well. They also have a ski-O map of Soldier Hollow, which I think Boris has been on before.

BAOC has a sprint map of the base of Northstar at Tahoe. I've run on that one and it has the whole base village and some of the lifts on it. They held a sprint in the village once.

Also near Trondheim this year we trained on a map with the Vassfjellet ski area on it. Here is the orienteering map.

The BFLO (Buffalo, NY) club has a map that includes the Holiday Valley and Holimont ski areas in Ellicottville, NY. They had a mini-rogaine (3 and 6 hours) a few weekends ago. The map is more rogaine quality than orienteering quality, and is a 1:20000 scale. Possibly someone from BFLO could post a copy of the map. There's a copy of the map (with my route on it, to mess it up a bit) on my log of the event:

And there's always NEOC's Mt. Wachusett, site of the 1996 Billygoat (with last leg across the still-snow-covered ski slopes...which felt great on a 70+F day!... described on the Billygoat.org site as "warm and snowy"). I don't have a map.

Something BETWEEN a topographic map and an orienteering map would suit the prospective users. Such as a scale of 1:20-25,000, contours 10 or 20m, forest shown as green. If you use the MTBO specifications as your guide (choosing light green instead of white for passable forest) you'll be perfect. And you can run MTBO and rogaines on it. And it will be cheaper to map.

Ski Wentworth in Nova Scotia used to be mapped. Contact OANS to find out who has it.

Do you have the copy of ONA with the Whistler Village map on the back? That might help persuade them orienteering will bring them good exposure.
