You do have a commo link-up plan with your girlfriend for the breaks during Ranger School, right? (Assuming she's not flying down to pick you up). You do have a plan for someone to pick you up, drive you to clothing and sales / haircut / feed you / let you shower and sleep for a few hours, right?

Our commo plan was a bit inhibited by my deployment to Bosnia (the day Jon entered 0 Week)...so he couldn't call me. I had to call him - and I missed him the first break, which was just awful. And that included a call to CGR to get routed to the Comm's House since his daughter was picking Jon and a few others up to take care of them during their breaks, but I never did track him down that first break. Thankfully, we were more successful on subsequent breaks.

It's amazing how much you can miss the sound of the voices of the people dear to you.

Wow, ma'am, what you all had to deal with sounds pretty rough, but fortunately my situation is a little easier. Mel has a class or two that day, but should mostly be pretty reachable.

I definitely don't want a repeat of Beast, when the first opportunity to call home came in week 3 and I couldn't reach anyone (and tried four different numbers).

I have a buddy who is medically delayed to the January class as my driver/housesitter, so that should all be good to.

Hope everything is going well!

Cool, sounds like you've got it all pre-planned. Cell phones probably help a lot, too - we're not in the Stone Age any more!

Good luck, sounds like you're doing all the right things to be ready. Does Mel know you'll be doing pushups for every letter she sends you?

I sent one from Bosnia every day...;-)
