| Shek: | Is there an easy way to link pictures into the training log?
Instead of writing out the description of the loop I did, i'd rather just take a screen shot of a google earth map with loop and leave it linked or embedded on the training for future reference. Alot less confusing and time consuming than writing out loops. See my most recent training to understand why. Is there a web master I need to bribe with liquid carbs to make this happen? |

| jfredrickson: | Shek, you might want to familiarize yourself with the donation page.
You can of course use Gmaps-Pedometer to draw out your route, then save it and link to the resulting URL from your training log. That of course relies on someone else maintaining your route in their database. I agree it would be nice to have it all built into AP. I think I even heard Kenny talk about it at one point... |

| Shek: | Hurray for google, thats exactly what I was looking for short of integration. Thanks.
How long will that route be stored? If I check it a few months from now will it still be good? |

| jfredrickson: | That's a good question. They don't say anything on their site, so I had always assumed it was indefinite, but who knows... |

| Tundra/Desert: | Some of mine from the days of early Pedometer software revisions are gone. I think you will be better off with the more stable software that is there now, but there are no promises. |

| Gil: | I have not tried myself but I heard that latest Garmin GPS units allow you to download your route to the map eliminating tedious task of marking your route on Gmaps-Pedometer.
But the answer to your original question - Is there an easy way to link pictures into the training log? - check the HTML hint just bellow 'Add to Discussion' button. You can post and link anything you want to your training log or discussion board. You do need to have picture published on another website to link it. Please note that 'linking picture' is different then 'attaching picture' like you'd normally do when Emailing pictures for example. As far as I know - AP does not allow attaching pictures to logs, discussions. |

| Jagge: | Instead in huge image you could link kml file (or just zip it and rename as .kmz - compresed files are much smaller). Then it can be opened with Google Earth, you could compare several routes, fly throgh...
I am used to link some of my orienteering routes only. maintaining your route in their database. I agree it would be nice to have it all built into AP. I think I even heard Kenny talk about it at one point... kmz blob upload utility might not be bad idea. |

| Shek: | Yea, but how do i generate a kml?
Can i map out on the pedometer and save the route as that? |

| hkleaf: | Sorry to divert the discussion elsewhere, but this also falls under the subject of "Training Log Qs."
I can't recall who I talked to at the finish area of the Sprint Finals last Sunday, but we were discussing issues with colors (assigned to different training activities) not showing up on our training logs. I mentioned to him a website that I used to get the correct HTML color names/values in order to solve the problem. Well, here is the web address. I don't even know if others are having the same issues I had before, or if you even understand what I'm talking about. Perhaps the problems are limited only to IE users? But anyway, I hope this will be useful stuff for the few of us. |

| ken: | for log colors, the hex value (don't forget the "#"!) should always work, e.g. "#00BB99" and you may have mixed results with named colors depending on browser. |

| Acampbell: | I know i was there when we were discussing this. can't remember who it was that said the colors weren't showing up. but i said i couldn't think of any other colors. So thank you for the link i'll finally be able to get ride of all my over laping colors! |
