cmorse: So there will be a meet this year? NEOC doesn't have much of anything other than Halloween O and a scout event listed. Thought maybe the tradition had died. I have to work again this year, but depending upon the weather, I might sneak out and run early like I did last year...

PBricker: NEOC has such a pathetic calendar of events this fall, I felt committed to doing this (noone else stepped up). You'll be welcome to run early; maybe it won't be as cold as last year! It's on Sunday this year instead of the usual Saturday.

walk: Maybe we'll just have to include it in ours from now on - a takeover of WMass coming soon?

PBricker: You may be joking, but I think a switch from WCOC to GCOC (Greater Connecticut Orienteering Club) might not be such a bad idea. As Peter and I were discussing on the way to the Highlander, your meets are as close or closer to Western Mass than most NEOC meets, they generally have better maps and better terrain, and we like you better :-)

cmorse: I think the most recent definition of 'Western CT' is west of the Rhode Island border.... and if we carry that line north we pretty much cover most of what's west of Worcester...

I may well take you up on the offer to run early, but it depends if the weather will allow me to go in to work late. Hopefully this year I won't fall down and sprain my thumb.....

Charlie: Sort of analogous to the old days, when NEOC-WM (western mass) was a powerhouse (of sorts), and extended to locations like the western part of Martha's Vineyard.

feet: 'Greater Connecticut' sounds vaguely militaristic. 'Massachusetts has always been part of the Greater Connecticut Co-Prosperity Sphere'...

walk: Who's joking?

walk: There is something quaint about the "WC" O Club, isn't there.

PBricker: With a couple of notable exceptions!
