I have been enjoying my winter hiatus from everything related to rankings, and I am a little behind getting the rankings patches mailed out. Before I do the mailing, I am reopening the option to request a virtual patch instead of being mailed a patch. I'll collect additional requests for a virtual patch through March 15.
In the past, several patch winners each year would mail their patches back to the committee or contact the committee before they were mailed indicating that they preferred not to get the patch for a variety of reasons. Accordingly, last year, we began to offer a "virtual patch" option. About 20% of the 2009 patch winners chose this option and received a congratulatory email instead of a real patch in the mail. OK, a nice little flurry of responses. If you aren't sure if you earned a patch, then go to http://usof-rankings.org/ and check the December 31, 2010 rankings for your course/class.
