Translation, please? I don't trust online translators.

I'm happy I got photo credits on the team member photos. But if anyone has better ones (like, where they're looking at the camera?!), I'd be happy to post yours instead. :-)

"Tiltnes, studying in Houston, went to the US Team trials this weekend and kicked all their sorry American asses."

That's what I thought. :-)

This is where the US team plays the disrespect card, goes to France, kicks all of their sorry asses, and gets a movie deal, right?

Anders stayed with us at the lodge last weekend and was a really nice guy at least I thought so. I know that all is fair in sports, etc. but I am disappointed that he disrespected our team this way. I guess we will have to return the favor in France this summer.

Also, I believe that Sergei Zhyk primary Club is DVOA NOT HVO.

No worries Janet, it doesn't literally translate to "...and kicked all their sorry American asses." It just gently points out Anders' winning margin ...

Sorry Janet, I was only kidding. I can't read a word of Norwegian. I just read between the lines. :)

I spoke with him on Monday as well. Tilt-ness is such a cool name.

No one told me Sergei's club, so I had to guess. I'll fix the OUSA website right now.

Actually, it would be nice if someone (registrar? team official?) could confirm all the Team members' home clubs...

The not knowing team members clubs seems a bit strange. Are there not bitter (almost meaningless. expect for bragging rights) relays held every year in the US?

@ Omom: No disrespect in the OPN article! The words used about Andres' running and results translate "overlegen = superior/brilliant" and "utilnærmeling = unapproachable".
The article also refers to "amerikansk uttakning = American selection", which is a term/concept used in Norway to describe team selection based on trial race results only, not including assessment of potential/ previous results or sickness and/or other reasons for poor performance at the trials (which is quite common in Norwegian selections).

Don't worry, Arne. Your son (I presume) was a universally-liked star last weekend. It was great to have him there and he's welcome back whenever.

I agree with Niel.

Agree with Jordan & Neil!

Was it even Anders who wrote the article? I presumed it was just somebody from the magazine/site thing, in which case, were it disrespectful, it wouldn't have been Anders anyway..

Thats correct. He didnt write the article. opn.no, where the article it was published, is a newssite that specalizes in orienteering, so publishes about individual orienteers, events, and links out results, events etc.

The reason it was written was because of a quite well known and talented orienteer, running also in a major event. That deserves coverage :D
