All

If you are coming to the S/M/L and haven't reserved your room read this....

I just tried to book my room...the Red Roof (host hotel) is around $170/nite with a few rooms left. The Motel 6 Danvers is sold out.

Most rooms in the area are between $125 - $175 when you call or are sold out.

I found a Motel 6 in Tewksbury for about $54 a nite. It is about 13 miles from Danvers. They have rooms. You can book through www.orienteeringusa.org to get the cheapest rates.

I'm not shilling Motel 6 here...just trying to let you know about cheap rooms.

See you in Boston.

Aren't Red Roof Inns and Motel 6 both under the same parent company, Accor?

I have a 2x queen bed non-smoking room with a micro-fridge at said Tewksbury hotel now. I'd be happy to split it with someone.

Ok, one queen bed is yours. And half the micro-fridge too.

Bummer about the fridge being half offered up. I know a penguin who I was about to refer to you...

As the price of such niceties skyrockets, I may be enticed to part with half of my micro-fridge as well. But, I think there is some positive theta on this trade, and I am going to milk it.

Wow, Glen, that's a great deal. I think that's about what I'm paying for the valet parking!

We might be able to fit the penguin if we section it the right way.

the geniuses at the motel 6 Danvers had given me a second room king size bed, _smoking_, micro-fridge. Only for friday night. I just cancelled it. If anyone wants to sleep in a smelly room friday night, act fast.

Guy....no Accor sold Red Roof Inn. (I get that a lot).
Bernard...thx for the update on M6....smoking (yuck) or not they were full when I called them. I will cast my lot w/ Tewksbury.

Have a good weekend everybody.

Glen, the Motel 6 in Tewksbury gave me a smoking room even if my confirmation email specifically says:

Room Description:
2 QUEEN BEDS NON-SMOKING, MICRO-FRIDGE

This is not the first time this happened to me. The first time was at one of the Pacheco A-meets, after which I promised myself never to stay at a Motel 6 again. I wish I had stuck to my promise, because it is not worth it saving a few dollars to stay in a smoking room that doesn't even provide shampoo.

While we're on the subject of Motel 6, let me add this about the Danvers location...

...and it's not even free!!!!

Maybe it will help keep you from complaining?

They are moving me to a non-smoking room for tomorrow night. It doesn't have a fridge, but the manager says they can keep some things for me in the employee fridge up front. As for internet service, my experience is that any hotel has crappy connectivity. My Verizon Air Card is usually faster.
