Speaking of route choice, what was your's to 9? You got me by > 1 minute and I can't figure out why. I went more or less straight, with a bit too much contour zig-zag in the first 1/4 of the leg, but I can't imagine that cost more than ~20 seconds...

Reminds me I need to visit Routegadget.

Sounds too obvious but maybe you drank at 8 - I know I didn't. I headed just about straight towards the rock features inside the loop of trail to the east, across the loop then on the trail until it bent to the south and attacked from there. Only other thing I can think of is that if you really did go straight, i.e. ignored the trail completely, there may still be a significant speed advantage on the trail despite how fast the woods were.

Now that I read your leg comments, going around to the right on the trail doesn't look crazy at all though I'd guess it's slightly slower. I'll have to keep an eye on RouteGadget and see if anyone tried that.

I probably drank, and wiggled on exit, and bobbled 5 secs at the bag. But overall, it cost a lot more than expected. Sloppy.
