Now that the map has been posted, which controls did you check?

31-22-64-48-67-54-45-71. not the most efficient loop, but I was placing SI units at controls that had already been hung with a control bag, so that was the assignment.

Got splits? :-D

Seriously, though, how easy/hard were they to find? Nadya said the map was very accurate, including vegetation (she worked the aid station NE of 45 -- and placed SI-units at 36, 56 & 92.

Vegetation mapping was excellent. A couple were tough just because of vegetation density and steepness of terrain, but they were generally hung in as visible a way as possible. It would have been nice to have the old fences on the map as they would have made nice linear handrails. But that would have taken more fieldwork which may happen in the future. The vegetation was mostly ampped from aerials and as I said was excellent.

Even if I had taken them, splits might not be too relevant since I was not trying for time, stopped to eat a sandwich after visiting one control, and at one point spent several minutes dancing around a ridge top trying to get enough cell phone signal to send a text back to tundra to report my progress.
