Thanks everyone!

Preliminary 2011 rankings have been revised to include OUSA memberships, age, credit days, and the ranking level achieved. Please review the rankings for errors. Feel free to contact me with corrections and/or questions.

OUSA membership is required for an 2011 Official OUSA ranking. OUSA status is "Yes" for anyone who was an OUSA member in 2011 and had joined by November 15. Since I did not announce the November 15 date in a timely fashion, you may still join OUSA by December 31 and receive a 2011 Official OUSA ranking.

Am I so low because I just did West Point and then retired at the CSU meet? Not a criticism, just don't know the system!

Yeah, you have only 4 ranked races, which means they all count, even the 0.

No criticism inferred. Thanks for the reminder that I need to bring forward from a previous year the general explanation.

All races count up to 4 and then1/2 of the rest are thrown out from worst to best. So, if you had 5 races, then 4.5 scores count; 6 races and only 5 count, etc.

do canadians count in the OUSA rankings? I see a few amongst the ranks.

Everyone (Canadan and otherwise) is processed in the races which make up the ranking scores. After the review period ends (no, I haven't said what that is yet), the rankings will include a column on what the rankings are for OUSA members only.

will the link also change to http://OUSA-rankings.org? ; )

No, hopefully in 2012, it will be embedded in the main OUSA site. That will coincide with the new rankings person taking over, who may, or may not be me.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze rankings patches have been awarded in the following manner to those who qualified for an
official end-of-year ranking on all competitive courses (open courses do not earn patches):
The top three in each competitive earn a gold patch.
Then the scores of the top three was averaged and multiplied by 80% and 70% and used to determine who earned a silver or bronze patch.
Example: for F-21+, the top three scores were 99.39, 97.94 and 88.83, which averaged to 95.39
95.39 x 80% = 76.30. Besides the top three, all eligible F-21+ with scores of 76.30 or higher earned a silver patch.
95.39 x 70% = 66.77. All eligible F-21+ with scores of 66.77 to 76.29 earned a bronze patch.

Patches will be mailed to everyone on approximately March 1. If instead of the actual patch, you would prefer to receive a virtual patch, then please fill out and submit the short form - one for each class you earned a patch in, and for which you would like the virtual patch instead.
