For those who may follow Hammer's log would know that Adventure Running Kids, the junior program that runs out of Hamilton, Ontario has been nominated for an award - the Ontario Trillium Foundation People's Choice Award!!

The award is chosen by a popular online vote and we're really hoping the AP international community will be able to help us out. You can vote for each of our five submissions every hour(!) until February the 29th. First time you'll need to create a profile and login.
More information can be found on our website
For those hip to the social media world, you could also retweet or share our Twitter and Facebook updates. That would really be amazing.

Thanks to everyone that votes - we'll keep you posted.

Maybe I could find it in the FAQ or somewhere else but will there be any releases of interim results for the voting, i.e. are we and the fans of other programs going to have a clue how we're doing sometime before the 29th? I'm going to feel a bit silly if we push you to victory by some ridiculous multiple of the number of votes actually needed to win.

That is a good question JRoc. On the web site there is a 'most viewed' tab which seems to be an indicator of votes. ARK had the most votes collectively for our submissions prior to voting but since voting starting today it appears that three other youth programs are increasing their 'views' at a much greater rate than the Adventure Running Kids submissions are.

While this isn't as big as say winning a Wheaties Box cover competition, we feel it provides us with a good way to get the word out about the success of this kids orienteering program. Over 225 different kids were in an ARK program/session in 2011 (and the program isn't even 2 years old yet).

Thanks in advance to all for your support.

Yes, thanks everyone so far for the votes. I'll provide an update on Wednesday evening (after the ARK session of course!) as to the standing based on the 'Most Viewed' submission hits.
We're definitely up there, but currently all the groups are on a promotional flurry. We'll see how it stands after a couple of days - so keep it up everyone, the support is phenomenal!

Voted. Why are there five different submissions?

Thanks for the support Carol! Each nominee was allowed to put up five submissions each to provide info on different aspects of their program.

Wow! Adventure Running Kids appears to be sitting in 2nd place out of the 18 nominees after the first two days of voting. Lots of time to vote still (until the 29th).

A reminder that there are 5 different ARK submissions that you are allowed to vote for each hour. After you sign in just type in ARK or Adventure into the search and the five submissions will appear.

So cool to have an orienteering program get this recognition. Thanks for your continued support.

the video is great! What a fantastic way to show off the fun of orienteering, running, and adventures ... and mud!

The video was made by APer turbo, ARK volunteer coach and all round awesome guy.
To follow up what Hammer said, thanks for all the votes. It's a pretty cool feeling to see our submission 'views' continually increase, knowing it's you guys and gals out there (many of whom I've never met) supporting us. We've added a 'How to' guide to the above link for those who were struggling to find our submissions.
Not only are we close to first place, there are two other groups nipping at our heels, so any chance you remember to vote, please do so.
Australia and Flight of the Conchords Islands (and all the good Euro folk out there), I'm hoping that you guys will carry the voting slack whilst North America slumbers. Feel free to make as many Tasmanian jokes in my log as you like if we win!

I will get on this. I saw your program in action a year or so back, and was really impressed with all you have done. It shows what can be done if a group of people put their mind to getting it done.
Will vote and spread the word.......

OK OK I'm an admirer. I'll vote for ARK, and you vote for Bret McKenzie, right?

How doe one tell how the voting is going? It can't be the number of views because one of the ARK submissions shows 0 views
